KAYD is a fusion band based in Hamburg, founded by musicians who share a deep passion for blending different styles and exploring new musical possibilities. The band takes its name from its founders, Kamil and Aydin, who have been making music together for years.

Kamil, the saxophonist, and Aydin, the pianist, collaborate closely on composing for the band,

ensuring a cohesive musical vision for this new project. While the lineup varies depending on the

project, the core members have a long history of working together and bringing their collective

experience to every performance.

Their music blends jazz, funk, rock, and pop, built on a strong rhythmic foundation and an inviting groove. Improvisation plays a key role, lending a natural fluidity to the sound, while contemporary elements further shape a distinctive and evolving style.

Although KAYD is a new band, its members have performed together in various constellations over the years. Each musician has shared the stage in different projects, developing a strong musical connection along the way

They have been part of ensembles such as NHO Big Band, Bastian Menz Trio, and Vadim Dmitrijev’s Quintet, with the most defining collaboration being the FlipFlap project, where most of the current lineup first came together. Through these experiences, they have also performed at festivals such as Usadba Jazz, Elb Jazz, Jazz Hall Summer Festival, and Jazz Open Hamburg, continuously refining their sound and approach as a band.
