Midlife Crisis - Shahin Asmari Comedy

Born in Iran, Shahin has spent most of his adult life making decisions that made perfect sense to him—and absolutely no sense to anyone else. From studying English literature against all expectations, to leaving a secure banking career, moving abroad, and eventually giving up corporate life to pursue English stand-up comedy in Europe, he’s been swimming against the current for over a decade. Now 35, the Iranian comedian, Shahin is calling his first special Midlife Crisis. Why? Because, as he puts it, Iranians don’t have the same life expectancy as Europeans—and besides, he already had his quarter-life crisis when he left Iran. This is the world premiere of an English comedy special in Hamburg on October 16, before it heads on a European tour in 2027, making you among the very first to see it live at the brand-new Kultur Palast Harburg.Whether you’ve moved to Germany, wrestled with visas, bureaucracy, culture shock, loneliness, or simply questioned whether you made the right life choices, you’ll see yourself somewhere in Shahin’s story. And if you haven’t? You’ll get a sharp, funny, and honest glimpse into what it means to build a new life from scratch in a foreign country.Expect sharp observations, outrageous stories, dark humor, and heartfelt moments that speak especially to English-speaking audiences in Hamburg and Germany—people navigating between cultures, careers, and identities, all while trying to figure life out one questionable decision at a time.
