THE INFINITE CHOCOLATE JAR
The Infinite Chocolate Jar (Berlin, DE) spielen Swing, Jazz und Blues für Tänzer. Inspiriert von den Wegbereitern und Innovatoren der verschiedenen Jazz-Epochen lassen sie auch ihre eigenen Ideen und Erfahrungen in ihre Arrangements einfließen. Ihr musikalisches Repertoire konzentriert sich auf die Swing-Grooves der 30er- bis 50er-Jahre, wagt aber auch den Ausflug in andere Genres innerhalb des Kontinuums afroamerikanischer und afro-diasporischer Musik.
Doch für sie geht es nicht nur um die Musik. Musik ist Kultur, und durch Musik wollen sie eine Kultur der Zugehörigkeit und des Austauschs inspirieren und gleichzeitig die Vielfalt sowohl innerhalb der Musik als auch innerhalb der Gemeinschaft hervorheben. Das spiegelt sich auch im Namen wider: Das Leben ist wie ein unendliches Glas voller Pralinen – und jeder Bissen birgt eine süße Überraschung ;)
Apropos Überraschungen: Die vielen Talente in der Band werden euch umhauen: Die Bandmitglieder leben in Berlin, stammen aber aus fünf verschiedenen Ecken der Welt (Belgien, Deutschland, Argentinien, USA, Venezuela), spielen mindestens zehn verschiedene Instrumente und besitzen wahrscheinlich doppelt so viele. Sie sind nicht nur leidenschaftliche Musiker, sondern verfügen auch über zahlreiche andere Fähigkeiten, die sie innerhalb und außerhalb der Swing-Tanz-Community einsetzen. Welche das sind? Fragt sie doch einfach selbst!
Aber vorher kannst du dir sicher sein: Sie werden ihre heißesten Rhythmen mit ihren coolsten Riffs mischen, damit eure schwungvollen Herzen die ganze Nacht durchtanzen.

The Infinite Chocolate Jar (Berlin, DE) play Swing, Jazz and Blues for dancers. Inspired by the originators and innovators of the different Jazz eras, they also bring their own ideas and experiences into their arrangements. Their musical repertoire focuses on the Swing grooves of the 30s-50s, but also dares to explore other genres within the continuum of African-American and Afro Diasporic music.
But it’s not just about the music for them. Music is culture, and through music they want to inspire a culture of belonging and exchange while highlighting the diversity within both the music and the community. This is also what the name represents: Life is like an infinite jar of chocolates - and each bite comes with a sweet surprise ;)
Talking about surprises, you’d be dazed by the many talents in the band: The band members live in Berlin, but come from five different corners of the world (Belgium, Germany, Argentina, USA, Venezuela), play at least ten different instruments and probably own twice as many. Next to being passionate musicians, they also have plenty of other skills that they put to work in- and outside of the Swing dance community. Which ones? Ask them yourself!
