TRANSTRONICA TAKEOVER
TRANSTRONICA grew out of Salon Queertronique, founded in Hamburg in 2017 with a simple but urgent idea: trans people shouldn't only be visible on the dancefloor. We belong behind the decks, on the stage, in the line-up and in the places where club culture is being shaped.
What began as a salon became TRANSTRONICA: a trans music festival, a meeting place and an ever-growing network of artists that has brought trans musicians, DJs and performers from different countries and generations together in Hamburg.
Before TRANSTRONICA returns with its next festival edition in 2027, we're taking over SLOT for one night.
And when we say takeover, we mean it.
La Carpio, Diwita, Malaz, Saeleen Bouvar, DJ Schmeisser, DSGNRPSY and Nikita come together for a night that puts Hamburg's trans club scene where it belongs: at the centre.
Seven artists. One night. One trans dancefloor.
And quite possibly a constellation you won't see again in Hamburg anytime soon.
But TRANSTRONICA has never only been about creating a stage for those who are already there. A culture survives because knowledge is passed on.
For this takeover, that becomes part of the night itself. Over the past weeks, Saeleen Bouvar has been working with Diwita and Malaz, sharing more than the technical basics of DJing: how to build a set as a narrative, how to create tension and release, how to make transitions matter and how to listen to a dancefloor.
At SLOT, they will take that knowledge into the booth and play their first club sets.
Not to become copies. Not to reproduce what came before.
Learn the craft. Inherit the knowledge. Find your own language.
Because making space for a new generation doesn't begin with giving them a slot. It begins before that, with sharing what we know, opening the booth and trusting them with what comes next.
Consider this a first transmission.
TRANSTRONICA returns in 2027.
Be there or be cis.
